“God is never late and rarely early. He is always exactly right on time. His time.”
Dillon Burroughs
There is so much truth to this quote. I have wanted and prayed many times for things or circumstances to change and sometimes it took a LONG time in my eyes. But I never lost faith that God was doing what needed to be done. I have always tried to make the best of situations and make decisions with my heart and my head. Don”t let situations not being what you think they should be, steal your joy for today.
As some of you know, John and I have been looking for a new home in Lititz for two years. It has been a test of patience for me. But in those two years, we prepared our home for resale, packed and purged, and enjoyed everyday we have in our home on the hill. Monday we found the house!
Some folks may ask why would you leave such a beautiful home? I would say, it’s a really big mid (to late) life crisis. Not really a crisis, just a need for simplicity and change. I have lived on this hill for 50 years of my life and never wanted to live anywhere else. I have loved every moment. It is time for a new chapter, an interesting place to walk and ride bike without getting in the car. Less yard and garden to tend but enough to continue gardening. Plenty of space for work, play, dogs and friends and family to visit. I also felt strongly about downsizing when it was our choice not our need. We have purged and organized so our children should have less work later. Last but not least we must address the memories. Yes, we have many wonderful memories of our life and time in this home and they will go with us, but we are ready to make new memories.
The new house has lots of fun, quirky details, a good yard, corner lot, great street, wonderful places to walk, well maintained and it needs a little updating. You can feel this house held a lot of love. Need for updating was a good thing for us because we can make this house our home now.
We will keep you posted on our remodeling journey. So very excited. God was with us every step of the way, every house we turned down or did not get, was leading us to this house and our future here. God is good.
